You need a new torque converter.I have an c5 a6 got same code.tranny wont go into overdrive. Mine is in shop now getting fixed.Im getting my timing belt and tc and flashed for $4600.I still got 21mpg.I called Audi dealer they wanted $3000 for tc.I got JA Autowerks doing mine.If you are in NJ give John a call tell him Jimi sent ya he will take care of you! He paid for my rental car from Enterprise 2012 sentra cant complain. If they dont know Audi dont let them work on it!!! When you drive your car look at your rpms at 55 your rpms will not drop below2200-2000.Again if your mechanics are not familiar with Audi's dont let them work on it! It will cost you more if they do!!!!!

Hi Gman 56

Thanks for the tip and reply. I live in the desert (UAE). Guess the guys here want to fleece where they can. My 4B A6 3.0 is a US model and dependent on repair shops than the dealers. guys that is a good thing. You are lucky and getting 21 mpg. I dont get any where close to 15.

Let me call them up and find out if they would ship one out here. May be that would save me a lot of pain.

Wow K , are you military? I use 93 octane gas.21 mpg
Highway around town 18 mpg.with torque converter locked off no overdrive thats why bad mpg. I hope you can get tc.I cant afford dealer price either.my Audi tech worked for Audi opened his own shop.not many people use the dealer for repairs unless under warranty.Good luck and have a good day!
