Hi,
i have an audi 5000 cd 1986 turbo that is not sparking and stopped sparking after it ran out of gas.
I have done all the troubleshooting test from the service manual and pulled down the codes which
say theres nothing wrong.

I need help.

Could a damaged fuel pump cause the engine to not spark?
Which sensors are neccesary, when working, to allow the computer to release a spark.

Generally speaking you need crank speed and cam position for the ecm to know when to create spark. I believe on your specific vehicle both sensors are incorporated into the distributor. How many wires are coming off the distributor. Not plug wires, but smaller electrical wires. Also where do they go to. Where do the wires that go to the coil come from? I cant really think of a fuel issue causing a no spark condition.
