Hey,
I have a 1993 Audi 100 CS and my low oil pressure light comes on at anything oover and above 2000 rpm I have drove it for about 1000 miles after the light came on due to no engine problems so I am guessing the problem is electrical. I have a good guess that the problem is the oil pressure sending unit can anybody confirm this ?

I came on the forum looking for info on how to fix this same problem. I just bought a '92 100CS Quattro that has the same problem. The mechanic I talked to as well as the previous owners' mechanics said this was a fairly common problem and was probably caused by a broken sauder connection. They said I would just have to get used to the beeping unless I wanted a shop to basically pull the whole dash out to fix the weld. I'd like to try and tackle the problem myself so if you get any more info please let me know.

 

sender units do play up but best get an oil pressure test to ensure oil pump is ok (when did you change the oil filter and oil?? did you use cheap oil?? 5w30 semi synthetic is what you need or better

 

I have same car and I have amazing oil pressure and I have 160K miles. Idles at 2.5 bars and drives at 5 bars. You should get it looked at. I have an engine light that comes on once a day and nobody can fix it either. But oil is good for your engine, you should get it looked at.

 

engine light that comes on once a day and nobody can fix it if the light comes on a code will be stored even if the engine warning light goes off, get them to pull the code then you can sort the problem

 

what engine size??? the 2.8 fuel pressure should be, system pressure without vacuum 3.8-4.2 bar, regulated pressure with vacuum 3.3-3.7 bar, smaller engines are different
