Default 1998 1.8t a4 engine light

ok
i need some help with troubleshooting.
i just bought a 98 a4 1.8t
i love the car.
the only thing is it acts up.
it bucks and bounces around, and it doesnt do it at a certain RPM. It does sometimes, at 3000 or so, but other times its all over the RPM range.
it looses ALL its power.
the guy said he just replaced the MAF sensor.
So i am driving along and the check engine light comes on, and i took it to get looked at. the code is a p0303 and thats a cylinder number 3 misfire.
i changed sparkplugs and it still had the engine light on. so i got a new coil and it is still doing the same thing, but now the light goes away and come back.
so i have no otehr ideas...
if anyone can help id REALLY appreciate it.

I had a bad fuel pressure regulator that was causing engine misfire.
