i was going in reverse and the car shut off when i turned it back on there was a loud noise there is a clunk when shifting but there is also alot of smoke coming out my muffler car still runs in every gear just very loud my check engine sign is on due to the bank 1 and bank 2 sensor is this the problem or is it my transmission please help thanks in advance

the mechanic i went to told me 2 codes 1 for bank1 sensor the other for bank 2 the others were unknown do you think this can have anything to do with the situation though im going to audi on mon

For a 1996 Audi any VAG scanner should do. You don't need CAN.

 

its a 1998 a6 not 96 do i need the other piece
