Hi there,

I have a 80 2.3E 1992 model. My car drives well but there is a noise coming from the back of the drivers seat under or near the back wheel. Sounds like a pump sound or like an aerial coming up sound. The car drives well so I am rather confused. At first I was told by another Audi owner it could be the water pump problem, but I don't think the car is getting over heated. When driving long distance tempreture is low but town driving it's usually pass 90.

Any suggestion?

fuel pump mate the newer ones are wrapped in rubber to stop this so you could do the same thing

Is it also normal that it make most noise when the car is idle but i don't hear it as much during smooth long drive? Also how do I get to the noise to muffle it.
