personally I prefer 2.8
you spend 5 grand geting to 300HP on 1.8
and 5 grand geting to 300HP on 2.8

but for moderate stuff, 1.8 is good
2.8 for reliability

^^^ditto. Less moving parts the better. No turbo nightmares, no boost leaks, no CEL going off, and waaay more reliable...I'll take the little extra weight upfront, besides I'm still a whole second quicker stock with much more torque.

I would go for the 2.8. Your car would go off with an amazing performance if you'll have top quality components especially when it comes to catalytic converter, exhaust and fuel pump.

depends what your plans are. if you are looking at moding it peice by piece. then the 1.8t would be great. easy to mod. and a good platform. if your not looking to mod or gonna throw a crap load of money at it at once the I would personly go with the 2.8 good luck and keep us up to date.
