2000 A4 Quattro 1.8T Auto Shifter Linkage Question
What's up guys?
I'm looking into buying a 2000 A4 1.8t Quattro I found for sale, $525. The owner claims she thinks there is a shift linkage issue because the car"jumped a gear". It's an auto trans with what I identify as a Select Shift option(manual shift). When the car is in Reverse, it's in Park, when in Neutral it's actually in Reverse. Right now it's in Neutral. Would love to buy this car, but before I do, I would like to know if anyone has more info or better yet a fix for this. If I can get it into gear, then I don't have to pay $200 to tow it home.
