2003 A4 Automatic Transmision Problem
I purchased a 2003 A4 with 47-K miles on it about 3 weeks ago. After about a week, I noticed slippage during the shifts. Depending a bit on whether it's still cold or warmed up, the RPM's pick up from 200-400 during the process of shifting to the next gear. This appears to be consistant in all gear shifts, even the 3-4 and the 4-5th. The shifting process seems a few seconds longer than it should be if working properly. Once shifted, it also appears that no additional slippage occurs. I would like to be a bit more informed than I am now, when I take this to an authorized dealer. I'm old enough to remember the non-electronic transmision days......... If this transmision was manufactured in those days, it would be labeled as junk. Now days, with computers controling everything, do you think I have a chance of this being an easy fix with a control module or somthing on that order?
Thanks in advance.
