Was driving through a parking lot today and heard a ping noise which sounded like something kicked up under the car. More than likely thats not the case and it was something on the car that made the noise. Anyways, instantly it felt like i was pulling 10000 lbs behind me and the car got very loud. Any ideas what this may be or what may have happened? Any help would be great!

 

Sounds like something in the drivetrain is in a bind. Or possibly a parking brake engaging when it shouldn't be.

 

It sat for a few and ran fine for about 5 minutes, was quiet and full of power then boom back to loud and sluggish

 

i will also add that it is loud if i rev it in park as well.

 

Is the exhaust loud or just a loud mechanical grinding type noise when revving?

 

To me it sounds more like the exhaust except for it seems loud towards the front under the drivers or passenger seat. It is weird to now if I rev the engine when the idol gets all the way down to where it should be the kind of vibrates for a few seconds then Idol smooth. It's a bit pass the oil change so I'm going to do that tomorrow but I would not think that would be making it do this

 

yeah. Have it checked out. Might just be a broken exhaust flex joint or something. Also, I've had a catalytic convertor collapse inside that will severely restrict the exhaust flow which will make it feel like it's pulling a house... It's not good to run it long like this. It can burn an exhaust guide up quick.
