2016 A5: Black splatter on the garage floor under tailpipe
The car is three months old and I only put a little over 1,000 miles on it. It is the 2.0L Turbo gas engine, standard in the US model. I noticed pretty much from day one that cold starts in the garage leave little drops of a black fluid on the garage floor. This happens immediately when I start, because I do not idle the car and back out right away.
I have not seen this before with any other car, 4 or 6 cylinder, gas or diesel. I assume that it is condensation, but the fact that it is present at all worries me a bit. Is this normal with the 2.0L turbo engine?
I could see this happen when one drives short distances, but my commute is long enough that there should not be condensation in the exhaust when I park the car in the garage.

This is normal. The catalytic conversion process to reduce emissions produces water. That water (or water vapor) will condense in the exhaust as it cools. When you start the car, it's simply blowing that water along with the typical black carbon deposits found in all exhaust systems out the tail pipe. Unless the Check Engine Light is on, it's nothing to worry about. It's just more noticeable on lighter colored surfaces.
