I need your help. Have a split in my Cab Hood Glass.

The original hood is in good condition but has never been replaced to my knowledge. If I was going to replace the whole hood what are the best available out there preferably european suppliers as I live in Ireland. What about differences in the various hood qualities? If I just go for replacing glass can I buy better quality glass somewhere than may be used by Person replacing?

Final question, does the hood have to be removed to replace and stitch glass in?
