Default A3 1.8t multiple problems

Hi team. New to this site. Generally need any help or advice. Got me some problems with my audi 2002 a3 1.8t
OK here goes.
1.passenger door light stays on so it somehow set the alarm off when I lock her. Have to keep shutting the door till the light goes out before I lock her. Also with this the interior lights flash and a clicking noise happens in the steering wheel.

2. My stereo has stopped working the lights behind the unit are on but no power on and off. Not done anything to it it's an audi unit.
Any help would be appreciated thanks Simon.

Sounds like the door contact switch is going bad on you. These are fairly easy to replace. Be careful when disconnecting the wires on the back sides of the switch. To not let them ground out because it will blow a fuse.

Speaking of fuses, I'd check fuse on the back of radio. Removing the radio is a very easy affair but you have to get the removal keys first. These are flat metal pins shaped very much like traditional car keys. They slip into the four small slits in the face of the radio at the top and bottom. These keys disengage the retainer clips that hold the radio in place. The holes in the rear of the keys allow you to grip they keys and use them to pull the radio out of the console. Sometimes you must wiggle the radio a bit to get it disengage as it is a snug fit. You can get these keys on ebay for cheap.

Further on from this the car has completely stopped working now. Had to jump start it and let it run for 30mins now all seems to be OK the stereo is working again but clearly there is a fault wiring. Car is currently in the garage but awaiting fault and price. If it is what you say is that pricey work??...thanks again.
