Hi guys,

Just took the plunge and put a deposit down on an audi a3 2.0 tdi 140 sport 2005 with 117k miles, cost 5k with 1 owner and full mostly audi history. its absolutley mint and drives very smooth. But on the test drive, every time i changed gear (mainly when accerating hard) there was a strange noise sounding like a whizzing sound. Like the sound when you hear a powerful cars dump valve going off. It was only when i pressed the clutch in to change gear for a couple of seconds. I mentioned this to the dealer who was next to me in the passenger seat and he saids it normal for this perticular engine to make this noise and is due to the waste gate/dump valve. But said he would have it checked by his mechanics to make sure. My brother spoke to an audi dealer that he knows and he said its 100 % the turbo on the way out! now im panicking, I love the car and dealer assures me its nothing to worry about. If anyone has had a similiar problem please could you help me ....thanks
