Question A3 Quattro Control Module

I have a 2006 A3 s-line with the Quattro and 3.2 engine with flappy paddle gearbox. I've been having all kinds of electronic issues such as stabilization light coming on intermittently and the power steering light coming on.

I use the galaxy app Torque and my OBDII dongle to have a look at the error codes and found the following:

MID:$01 TID:$43
MID:$14 TID:$80
MID:$1 TID:$eb
MID:$29 TID:$e0
MID:$b0 TID:$e6
MID:$b0 TID:$e7
MID:$e6 TID:$60

Anyway thinking it was just a quick fix PCB replacement or something I sent it down to the dealer. The dealer told me that every module had several faults and this was a result of a battery out of spec (they wouldn't tell me what voltage it was outputting). Because I was busy they replaced the battery at a cost of $300

Still there is a problem with the stabilization. They are telling me now that the Quattro Control Module is the problem and that will need to be replaced at a cost of $2400.

Anybody got experience with a DIY replacement of the control module or where to find this module cheaper than what the dealer will charge me?

Thanks

Steve
