I am new to the forum and Audis. I have never owned one, but I am seriously considering purchasing one soon. I want to know the pros and cons of the A6 and A8. I have done a fair amount of reading about both and I know some commonly talked about issues. I know if they have a timing belt, they have to be replaced around 100k miles and that is isn't cheap. I also know in newer models that they have chains instead of belts.

I am searching for a fun, AWD call that is reliable. I would like to know other's experiences with either of the models I have mentioned. How many miles can I expect to put on an engine? Is there one particular engine that does better than the others? These are the kinds of questions I am asking. I appreciate positive input. Thank you.
