A8 intermittent clicking noise centre console area

Can anyone tell me the likely cause of my clicking noise problem? Would like to fix before something electrical fails!!!!

More info....At stop? rotational? Electric clicking or something under your car? If you have a stick it could be your throw out bearing for the clutch
