Default Advice on a good Audi Fault Code Scanner

Hi,

I am wondering if any of you guys own a fault code scanner that you are in love with. I am looking for one to be used on my 1998 Audi A6 2.8L Wagon. The main reason I need a scanner is that recently my "Airbag" light has come on by it self. I have shopped around the cheapest quote I have received was a charge of $95 to simply run the system scan and diagnose the problem, repairs are extra. I figure with a decent scanner and savvy internet searches I can diagnose the problem myself.

Any advise would be great appreiciated.

Thanks.

Well, I was talking to a friend who is an Audi Tech at the local Stealership the other day, and he said that Ross-Tech Vag-com is way better than the scanners that Audi provides to them. In fact, he was going to buy one for himself. (I told him not to, he was welcome to use mine)

Learning curve is a bit steap, but great tool. Don't buy one of the ones off of ebay, get the real deal!

Hope that helps.

Ken
