I put some bags in my car this morning to get ready for a road trip after work today and when I cranked my car I noticed that the Air Bag light stayed on. I have an 01' A4 1.8T FWD with 45K on it. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Should I be concerned with driving it on a road trip. I hope this isn't anything major, but I do have an extended warranty. Unfortunately, I'm not able to take my car to a mechanic until I return back in town next week. Any thoughts before I hit the road?

You may want to check the connections under the seat to see if they are loose.

 

Thanks for the reply. I already checked for loose connections and all seems to be OK. I guess I need to take it into the stealership..

 

Sucks man. Audi seems to have a lot of problems with their airbags malfunctioning.

 

I have the same problem. Which seat should i check under or do i check under both and what kinda cable am i looking for? just all of them in general?

 

I drove my 1999.5 A4 around the block twice. Got home and the as soon as i pulled in the driveway Airbag light turned on. I got no idea either. I'll probably take it to get scanned tomarrow. Let me know what you find out

 

Went and got it scanned today. It was a driver side igniter code. They unpluged and reconected my underseat connections cleared the code and it didn't come back.
