My wife has a 2001 A6 Avant that is about to come off the 100,000 Certified Pre-owned warranty (99,600 miles). She went in today to get the 100,000-mile service. While there they tried to bait her into getting the $1,300, 105,000-mile timing belt, water pump, thermostat work done, which they claimed is eight hours of labor! Their rationale was that she would save on labor by having it all done at once. She told them, “no thanks”.
Frankly, both my wife and I have grown tired of what we consider to be a non-responsive, incompetent dealer service operation. And we’d very much like to find a more reasonable Audi-knowledgeable mechanic to work on the car.
Can anyone out there recommend a good, independent Audi mechanic in the Albany, New York area? Thanks.
Brian
