Default Am I reading into this too much?! Accessory belt

Hey everyone,

I plan on doing my timing belt and all that jazz. I've decided I want to go with ECS Tuning as I hear their kits are pretty solid and priced fair, but I don't know which kit to order.

I'm stuck between their Ultimate Plus timing belt kit and their Ultimate kit that offers a lightweight Crank Pulley. Anywho, I click the 'Kit Contents' option and see that their alternator belts are Continental brand and that they're roughly half the price of the Genuine VW/Audi belts (but what OEM parts aren't an arm and a leg ).

I should know Continental is decent but I'm a little unsure as some of their accessory belts are made in the Romanian factory compared to their usual Spain or U.K. factories so I fear I should throw some OEM belts in my order. Has anyone on here ever had an issue with the Romanian made Continental belts or with Continental belts in general for that matter, or am I just worrying way too much?

Any extra comments/ suggestion regarding timing belts and timing belt kits would be appreciated as well!

Isn't Continental and OEM provider fir Porsche/Audi/VW? Sometimes the OEM part is a Conti, Bosch, EAG, SKF, etc part in a nice expensive box...

Got to love the expensive four ring stamp on the Continental parts at times, etc. lol

they're all like that.. I've owned a 944 for the last 23 years (not to mention a 914, 928, an Audi 5000SQ, and Audi A8L) and avoid buying dealer parts whenever I can. Most parts can be sourced from the same manufacturer of the OEM parts at a sometimes half the cost of the pretty box....
