Annoying central locking problem - HELP ME!!!!!
 

My '97 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro has developed an unbelieveably annoying problem with the central locking. The problem is intermittant, but occurs more often than not.

when I try to lock or unlock the car with the remote or key( I have tried more than one key/remote, and reset the keys more than once), the buttons go up and down several times, and it takes me a few goes to open/close it. In some instances the buttons will not stay unlocked, and I have to quickly snatch the drivers door open before the button drops again(which sometimes sets the alarm off). Also, the windows start to open on occasion while it is going through this crazy lock/unlock process.

I am new to this forum, so any help would be greatly appreciated, as I know Audi would charge a small fortune just to look at it.

I can honestly say this is the single most annoying problem I have ever had with a car[:@][:@]:([:@]:(
