so yeah in last month all my upper control arms failed (guessing the undercoating used at my detail shop that someone (not me) carelessly sprayed on the CA causeing the boots to dry rot an let moisture in) and my axle finally failed. control arms replaced in a 2 week window and the axle this morning, the thing is i had thumping noise everytime i turned and i had horrible vibrations. after this things were good but then i noticed i still had a slight vibration and the a thumping noise everytime i turned, fearing i jacked up the center driveshaft i did a few AWD launchs int eh wet on asphalt and had a buddy make sure all wheels spun (ok not the best way to check it out but yeah all 4 wheels spun) so what the hell can this thumping be, i dosent sound deadly but i dont like noises coming from my car, 1996 a4 quattro 5 speed, stock minus pureMS snub and 034 track density engine mounts. vibrations in the steering wheel only not really car the body. gm synchromesh in teh gearbox. axle that failed was actually the outter cv joint and the shaft iself was moving in and out of it. thats all the info i can provide, please guys help me find this sound.

 

also i forgot to mention the noise is fromt eh center or rear.
