Default audi 80

have 1994 audi 80 have problem on occasions have rough idiling when engine is warm which results in miss fireing and poor throttle response have removed connection to sensor at front of air filter and everything seems more or less ok except that the revs remain high can any one shed any light on the problem

If the car's that old he 1st thing I'd do is replace the spark-plug wires. I had an Alfa Romeo, years ago, when I lived in Italy, that had a similiar syptom. I hadda cracked cor in one of my plug wires that, when things got hot, would cause a stumble/misfire at high rpm's. New wires solved the prob. It a relatively easy thing to check with a continutiy tester or Volt-Ohm meter. Inexpensive fix, too, even if you device to upgrade to beter wires...

Thxs for the advice, had the leads and plugs changed earlier in the year also had to have new catalytic converter and lambor sensor.
