Default Audi A4 Ignition Coils Problems?

Has anyone been successful in going back to Audi (or their dealers) for compensation on failed ignition coils? I just purchased a 2005 A4 and within 3 months 3 of the coils failed. The car just passed 50K miles, so the parts and labor came out of my pocket.

you won't get it.

you should have got the Audi Assured or Audi Pure extended warranty. Thats exactly what they will tell you

I just got my 2005 A4 1.8T CPO. within 100 miles I have had the ABS module, a couple wiring harnesses, and 2 coils replaced... all free of charge under warranty.

Apparently Bosche (sp?) the manufacturer for the coils sent out a bad batch of coils to audi, within a certain date range. I had 2 coils from that date range... they replaced the one that failed, and check the serial numbers on the other ones to get the dates, and found another one from the same batch, so they went ahead and replaced that also.

its more than a batch.

2003 - 2005 all models are mostly affected.

they have a problem w/ moisture getting in and shorting them out.

and Audi isn't the only one w/ this problem

I replace mine on a regular basis.....been through 5 in the last year.....its easy to do yourself...just undo the wiring harness and yank it out!
