Default RE: Audi Technical Info Manual

you can check repair times for most parts (you can now check Audi dealerships not telling you wrong hours at inflated prices).
The problem with those times is that they are made up by people that have never seen an audi let alone worked on an audi. The times it takes to actually perform repairs is almost always greater than the actual time. A great example is the 4 link suspension. Most labor times call for 1.5 hours for upper control arm. Notice not arms, just one. But you should replaced them in pairs. That brings the total time to 3 hours. Most shops however will only charge two hours to replace both. But if the person who determined those times had ever worked on an audi the labor time would be 2 hours for upper control "arms". And if your talking audi warranty times dont even get me started. Those numbers are developed by a computer. Seemingly at random. And thats where the real travesty lies. Technicians have a family to feed to and when audi doesnt pay them squat to fix your car under warranty, they have to make it somewhere, and in the long run the consumer suffers for audi's greed.
