Battery Vent
I am replacing the battery in my 1998 A6. The battery I am replacing does not appear to have the vent tube going to anywhere in particular. The battery I purchased is a 48 center vent. Where does the vent tube go?
Thanks for any help you can give.

When i replaced the battery on my a4, the oem battery had 2 vents on the top on either side, there was only a tube from one of those vents, so i just replaced the old battery with the new one and put the one vent hose back on. I figured if thats the way it was, that's the way it'll be. I'll have to take a look to see where the vent tube goes again, i forget. I think it just went into a black hole on the bottom of the battery tray.
Thanks for the quick reply! When I got the battery out, I checked for any possible places the hose might connect. No luck, When I installed the new battery I kind of pointed the tube toward a drain hole located under the battery tray. If there are any more responses with better guidance I'll give them a shot. At least the car will start and all of the electronics work properly now.
