Default Car won't start after pumping gas..help!

Hi all

I am new to the forum and I had a quick question. I drive a 1999 Audi A4 2.8Quattro and everytime I go to pump gas my car will have a hard time starting afterwards. It will keep cranking and will only start if I press the gas pedal all the way down. And also, I have a manual transmission and after I start the car, I can't let the car idle or the engine will die and I will have to start it by pressing the gas down again.

I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem, or knew what was wrong.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Ken

does it idle real rough like a vacuume leak? possibly a coolant temp sensor, common failure on our cars, it's giving it too much fuel, so when you put the pedal to the floor it will actually shut off the injectors and it will clear out all that fuel. Another one i've seen is a failed fuel pressure regulator, similar symptoms
