Cats Cats Cats.....

I have a a4 saloon with an engine code 1Z and its catalytic convertor needs replacing. I've got a chance to get hold of a catalytic convertor from a 1998 model with engine code AFN, is it possible to use this part on the 1Z ?

my a4 is a 1996 model.

measure the length with a piece of string on both if this matches up then measure the spaces between the bolts if it can physically fit then you should be good. personally i would buy a new one from somewhere. the last thing you want is to install another cat that can possibly be dead or is going to die.

 

i have to replace my cats soon and not sure if i am going to convert to a single larger cat or just replace both. but anyway look here for cheep prices on cats. www.hottexhaust.com
