I found the thread on reseting the oil light but it does not work for my 97' A4. The post says only tested and works on 98 and 00. Is there any way to reset the blinking oil and service light in the trip OD lights?

I could only get mine to clear using the vag-com.

vag-com is too expensive to just reset light. I guess i will just have to learn to live with it.

Alright, the same light just came on for me...there must be a few of you who don't have a vag and change your own oil...has anyone had a dealer re-set after you changed the oil?...would it be possible to do with the vag at autozone?
