Find some one local with a Vag-com, or go to most any autoparts stores & have them read the codes.

I know auto zonehas code readers, you just need to shell out the 150 dollar deposit but you get it back when you return it...you can also check craigs list, there some guys that can check if for you for like 20 bucks.

Auto Zone will run the codes for you. You don't have to put any deposit down to take the VAG with you. When you get the codes, post them and you can get some help.

i got the reading awhile ago and the tech told me that it was random misfiring. so i changed the spark plugs and he told me it had to be the ignition coil. the problem here is that i called audi dealer and they told me that if it was the ignition coil the engine light would be flashing. im going to go get an OBD reading again tomorrow hoping i could fix this problem.

If you own a S4 & want to work on it your self. Ponny up & purchase a REAL Vag-com. It will pay for it self with only a couple of uses.

The dealership may have told you a little bit of a story. The coil could still be the problem. The only way it flashes is if there is a type 1 misfire which is when a cylinder is dumping a lot of HC's into the exhaust After you installed the plugs did you did clear the codes right. What kind of plugs did yo uuse?

This may be stupid, but my car was a faulty gas cap.
