Default Check Oil or Add Oil Light is freakin out

Help my check oil or add oil light is freakin out... I just changed the oil in my car and it is full.

It flashes on and off about 3 or 4 times a day, then shuts right off...

Don't mean to panic you but you need to get the car to the shop.

In Oct 2007 my 2002 A6 3.0 started having a similar problem. The oil level was fine, like you I had just had an oil change so I couldn't understand it. It stopped doing it for a few weeks so I wrote it off as a glitch.

Well the car died on me on Thanksgiving day... Ended up being a major repair ($6000)

Hopefully you just have a bad sensor but you need to find out for sure.

Could be an oil sludge issue. You definitely need to get it diagnosed A.S.A.P.! It could cost hundreds to remedy it, but if you wait, it could cost thousands to repair the damage. Engine oil is very important, and I know my B5 A4 has an oil sludge issue I plan to take care of this week. Good Luck!

Ok so the car went in to the dealer, they replaced a bad sensor. However it is still coming off after I get off the freeway. I dropped the car back off so hopefully they get it figured out. The cool part is I get a free 2009 a4 to drive....

I hope the problem is figured out before your warranty expires. Hopefully they take a while to diagnose so you can enjoy yourself in that new car!!!!!
