Chrome needs some serious help..
Hello again,
I've been trying to make my chrome look better for last month or so and have tried a bunch of chrome polishers but nothing seems to help. There seems to be like rough spots on my chrome strip around my car. Here is a pic:

Any ideas or suggestions? I'm really stumped by this...
Thanks

Hard to tell from the pic but it looks like the chrome is pitting. If it is, you can't rejuvenate it - it's a flaw in the chrome itself that'd require rechroming to repair.
That depends if it's pitting or if that's just some surface corrosion. Can you get some closeup pics? Or can you feel them and tell whether the chrome coat has been compromised? If it has (ie, if you can feel the "edge" of the plating) then chances are it's shot. You could check out JC Whitney or Eastwood Company for a handheld electroplating kit (that's what dealers use to do the "gold package" badges on cars), and you could try to rechrome the damaged areas. Other than that, replacement is pretty much the only option if the chrome is really pitted and/or cracked.
One important note: Audi does not use chrome, but pure (99,99%) aluminium with a special coating. Once it gets "milky", no way to restore it, it has to be changed. Remember- NEVER polish these elements, since that is what damages them (together with certain car care products).
