I recon hose to carbon canister in that case, throttle body I doubt because it would throw other codes

 

? don't understand,nothing is disconnected.

 

it is a strange one, it only happens when you fill but doesnt happen when you remove the tank cap, it doesnt happen when you park up and leave the car for a while??, its not over fueling but hard to start when engine hot so I would put this problem as hard starting when hot?? areas to check

so we have narrowed it down to filling up "fuel tank vent"

 

? usually when i see things in my head,they turn out to be right.what i see is a check valve ,other than purge valve,that is faulty and is forcing excess vapors to the throttle body,in essence causing it to flood.

 

only thing I can think of is fuel pressure regulator at the moment so pressure needs to be tested, im working on a Mercedes with basically the same problem "not so much an over fuel but a tank feed vacuum lock" im thinking EVAP canister, throttle body is a possible check the air filter

 

thing im looking at is vapour lock in the intake

 

i have the same problems and i also got that code p0455 and p0118( engine coolant temp. circuit high input) not sure what it means...but my car wouldn't start after long drives or try to start it right after stoping the motor....it happens once a day and i have to hold it for 20 sec until it rumble and start...any advice? Thanks

 

JUST BOUGHT 4WEEKS OLD 97 A4 HAD 3DAYS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON BROUGHT BACK TO IMPORT DEALER/SALES. WEEK LATER CAME ON AGAIN. BRINGING BACK TOMORROW BUT NOTICED IT USED TO MUCH GAS AND IN2 FLASHES WERE THE MILES ARE IS THIS COMMON FOR IN2 TO FLASH AND DO YOU THINK IT COLD BE O2 SENSER. THANKS!!!
