Diagnostic codes
Hi everyone. Ok have several codes I am getting. Need some input on the codes.Short history of the car. 2000 S4,I purchased this car as flood damaged. Body is in mint condition and the engine runs perfect.I expected thecheck engine light to come on do to the flood damage. Here is the list of codes I am getting.
Engine Codes:
1. 16825 (P0441) - Evaporative Emission Control System - Incorrect Purge Flow
2. 17536 (P1128) -Long Term Fuel Trim - System too Lean (Bank 1)
3. 17538 (P1130) - Long Term Fuel Trim - System too Lean (Bank 2)
ABS
1. 00301 - ABS Return-flow Pump
Air Bag
1. 00588 - Air-bag Ignition Circuit - Driver Side
2. 00589 -Air-bag Ignition Circuit 1 - Passenger Side
Any help would be great on how to fix these. This is my first Audi and the one I have wanted for a very long time. If I can get these problems fixed, I would be the happiest guy in the world . I am sure most or maybe all of these can be DIY. If any testing equipment is needed, let me know. Also if any of you guys have had any of these codes before and found a fix, please post. Thanks a bunch guys! Love.

RE: Diagnostic codes
I feel so sorry for you. This car is going to kick you in the A$$.
Go here to get more info on the codes.

I would suggest purchasing both a Vag-Com & Bentley manual!!
1. Check your gas cap
2&3 can be a lot of things. Low fuel pressure, bad injectors, bad fuel pump or FPR.
You will need to do some VAG logs. Your car is running lean.
The ABS problem might be the ABS controller, it's a common failure item.
Lastly, the airbags, my guess would be a corroded ground due to the water damage, or the airbags got wet, & are now bad.

RE: Diagnostic codes
Haha! The only a$$ kicking this car has been doing is on the road. But yea, I know what ya mean. I can't really complain. The car cost me 5k. I am expecting to put some money into it fixing what needs to be fixed. I will inspect those suggestions and see what results I get. I have ordered the repair manual from Bentley. Seems like an excellent repair guide. I am in a process of getting a laptop so I can get VAG COM, makes it much easier to have the PC near you. Thanks a bunch you guys.
