Default RE: drive by wire throttle

Drive-by-wire simply means that instead of a cable connecting your gas pedal to the throttle body, the throttle body is opened and closed by an electronic signal. The signal tells the throttle body how much you have pressed the accelerator. Non-drive by wire (drive-by-cable) has a cable from the gas pedal to the throttle body.
