Default DV

Does a DV really help? I have a 02 A4 1.8t quattro with a Tiptronic, and I am looking for some mods to start with.

Also I am finding out that I will be limited by the Tip, but why and can I do any mods besides and tranny swap to help beef up the Tiptronic? I know of the level 10 torque converter, but is there anything else?

Thanks
DOminic

That will make the trans shift faster, right? Will it do anything else? Also what will make the trans stronger, anything?

Oh hey can someone explain a DV, I know what a BOV is, but their not good for our cars, so I really don't understand what a DV is and does.

THanks
Dom

yes tip chip makes shifts faster. No I dont thinks theres anything on the market to make the trannys stronger... but the tranny isnot exactly a weak point either.

Really, what kind or numbers can it handle?
The guys at APR told me that I would be able to run their Stage 1+ (chip & injectors) along with a couple bolt on’s like exhaust and an air intake, but that would be about it. And according to their numbers the should be pushing about 215-245HP and 275+ lbft or torque. Are those numbers even accurate? And will that stress the trans, because I do not want to do that being this is my daily driver.

Thanks
Dom

you wil prolly be more like 245 with all that, the stage 1 likes 235 alone.

So is APR blowing their number up, GIAC being a little conservtive? GIAC claims like 35hp and 60-80ft lb added with their chip. That is a big difference in torque APR=275ftlb and ?245ft lb?
