I have bought a great car - Audi A6 S line 2006 a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed the drive for 3 weeks however the EML light is now showing and I have managed to get the diagnostics done and got the following errors:

12369 - Starter Control Returned Message 56 Implausible signal P3051 intermittent

01032 - EGR Potentiometer (G212) Signal too High P0408 intermittent

I went to a local garage and they are all too keen to replace the EGR potentiometer which costs from dealer in excess of £340. I am hesitant to think that the part actually needs replacing from previous experiences.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to start troubleshooting. I am starting to get a slight dip in performance in 2nd and 3rd gears
