Default Engine Speed Sensor Issue

Hi everyone. Looking for some advice regarding the performance of my 2004 A8L. A few things to complain about.
1. The car has issues shifting from 2nd to 3rd. When traveling up an incline, it almost always shifts really hard. I can do it manually with no problem, but when left in Drive (versus tiptronic) it shifts very hard.
2. When trying to accelerate a little aggressively, i've noticed the RPM seems to go up and down too often. It feels like I am in a boat, and you can hear the engine change pitch(as if the propeller where coming out of the water).

This doesn't seem like normal behavior huh? Would a bad engine speed sensor cause this type of issue?

Thanks for any input.

Default Same issue?

I to am running into the same thing. I own a 2003 A6 3.0, at first I thought it was due to a faulty MAP after having my driver side cat con replaced. So I went ahead and reset the ecu by letting the system drain. After reading through some other post, I followed the instruction, and its better. But my shift points are off, and when driving by the time I hit 42+ its already in 6th gear. I was hoping by going back to the stock MAP that the shift points would be reset and the system would reset everything. If anyone has any other thoughts I would appreciate it.
