EPC Light
Hey Everybody,
I did some searches through the threads and couldn't find anything specific... I need your help. I have a 02 A4 1.8t and its been giving me some problems lately. I had an ignition coil go bad lately soI replaced them all and it ran fine. But a few times lately when I start my car my EPC light will stay on. I also havestalled three timesslowing to red lights, and it takes a couple tries to get it turned over.
I have some ideas but I am not sure where to go until I pull some codes from Auto Zone at lunch. Has anybody had any similar problems?
Side note: on a recent road trip myoil light came on and I was forced to use a non synthetic thicker oil. I am scheduled to drop my car off on Tuesday for an oil change as my independent is very good but also very busy.
Thanks for all your help.

RE: EPC Light
Okay just got back from pulling codes.
I got the P0300
and a P0303
I am assuming the 303 is from the bad coil pack I replaced and never reset the code. The 300 indicates a cylinder misfire but in a random cylinder. It also lists the possible causes but I was wondering if anybody else encountered this same problem.
Thanks.

RE: EPC Light
Okay... I said I would post what the shop found when I got it back so here goes. I think they are stumped. They told me they ran some codes and all of them dealt with the EPC. They reset the codes and $75laterits in my parking space. However when atidle rpms are still at 900 instead of the usual 1100. I don't know what to do and I'm sure it will be back in the shop before the week is out.

RE: EPC Light
Just thought I'd post my progress in case anybody needs it. Check engine light popped on again and got code P0321... Code indicated a problem in my crankshaft position sensor apparently aka the engine speed sensor. After messing around with the wiring, looked okay. I ordered the part ($70) and it will be here Thurs morning. I found a link that could be helpful to install it. I'll let you all know how it goes.
