Error Codes (New Audi Owner) Help Please

Default Error Codes (New Audi Owner) Help Please

I have an 2001 A6 4.2l and had the error codes run. car has 50K miles

I am getting an error lean bank 1 and 2

also error code saying the timing is off

can anyone help shed some light what the possible problems might be?

just speculateing here, but the lean bank code I think may have somthng to do with ether the O2 senser or dirty fuel injectors, I've had that one on my car (2.8 12V) and a bottle of fuel cleaner later and the code never came back. As for the second one, your cam sensor may be bad, there for giving it a bad timing..

Could also be something as simple as a vacuum leak. Check the intake manifold changeover valves. Make sure they both hold vacuum. The cam adjustment problem could be a cam sensor or cam adjuster.

as far as the bad timing i would check whether or not the timing belt was recently done or if the timing belt was removed for anything such as waterpump, cam seals etc. if so the cams could be off a tooth or so causing the timing issue.

please list the codes "air/vacuum leak" are a good start, also cam sensor/maf sensor

Yep typically a bank 1 and bank 2 lean would be a bad MAF sensor. When you have a bad O2 sensor it would be only bank 1 or 2 not both.
