Fixed major oil leaks
I perused the forum for answers to the problems I was having. Engine oil and transmission oil was starting to leak and over a short period became a major leak. I also was having the check engine light go on, annoyingly. I found a post that talked about replacing the Suction Pump valve and associated check valve, that might lessen the leaks, so I gave it a try. Purchased the suction pump valve, check valve, replaced the crankcase breather tubes by cutting off the brittle hard plastic and saving the ends. Got appropriate rubber vacuum hose sized, attached the factory ends and secured. Bought 10 feet of braided vacuum hosing. Replaced as much of the vacuum hosing that I could. Replaced the factory hard plastic vacuum tubing around the Suction Pump with rubber vacuum hosing. Everything looks professional and tidy. Perfect.
Result was that within days, the leaks stopped. I have not had to add trans or motor oil at all, I was going through a quart of each a week and now nothing in several thousand miles. The Check Engine light went off on its own.
1996 Audi Cabriolet with 125,000 miles. Engine is V6 2.8, 12v.
Would recommend this procedure to every like supplied engine that uses this technology.

not sure how changing the engine vacuum lines and hoses would stop the transmission from leaking.
you sure you had a trans fluid leak and not the engine oil making it seem as if it was leaking. oil leaks on these cars leak all over the place and def onto the transmisson

There is nothing like the look or smell of trans fluid. I went through 5 quarts of trans fluid in a little over a 2 months. Haven't touched it in several thousand miles. It can get expensive replacing trans fluid frequently. Don't know if there is any hoses or check valves that lead to the trans, but all leaks stopped after check valves and hoses replaces.
