general body kit question
i have a white mk1 tt, its pretty rare in that color
i want to get a full body kit. front and rear bumper + side skirts
body man said i will need to paint the car to match the kit. obviously it doesnt come white out of the box
he says kit wont match if i paint it alone and that he needs to spray the car a bit to make it match
i dont want to touch the paint but i want the kit
what do i do, must i really paint the car

If the body kit is simply attached (bolted on) to the car with "body work" necessary, a decent shop should be able to pull the paint code and match it very well. The fact that you will have a seam, joint, or any other break between the original and new paint, a good color match should be virtually unnoticeable without very very close scrutiny. However, if any of the body kit needs to be physically blended or faired in, feathering the new paint into the old one will be necessary like your shop says.
