Well, I just purchased a 1997 Audi A4 2.8 I love the car but I'm overseas and my car is in the states "Maryland". My parents told me that I need a Heater Core installed. Well they took it to the local Repair shop and they said the part was about $65.00 but the price to install it woul be about a $1000 dollars because they pratically had to remove the engine. Does this sound correct, or do you think an Import shop could do it for cheaper, cuz if not, then I'm gonna have to buy a different car if repair costs are that high. Thanks in advance for any help in this matter

 

i though it was they have to remove the dashbord, i could be wrong i never worked on a b5 before. but in vw's they put it in behind the dash. but anyway that isnt too bad for the labor i charged 850 for one in a corrado.
