Help! CEL and P0341 code...
Hey guys, just bought an 2002 Audi A4 3.0 and I love it so far! Anyway, it has a CEL with a P0341 code (cam position sensor). We replaced the cam sensor, cleared the code and it just keeps coming back. Also, while the CEL is on, it will intermittently blink while driving. What else could it be? I have to get tabs at the end of the month, but can't because it needs emissions... CEL = Failed emissions test.
Checked the t-belt and it's taught. We haven't really started the troubleshooting yet, just replaced the sensor. Wanted to hear some of your thoughts. Is it possible that it could be something beside the timing? Maybe bad coil-packs? Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
Update: Still have the P0341 code and the CEL, along with misfires in cylinders 1, 2, and 3. All on the same side as the that cam sensor... what do you guys think? Is the cam off by a tooth? Would a bad connection/faulty cam sensor cause misfiring?

Hi. You may already know this so it may not help. The code on my Autodata said : Camshaft position (CMP) sensor A, bank 1 - range/performance problem. Probable cause : Insecure sensor/rotor, air gap, wiring, CMP sensor. Let me know if you need anymore info from my Autodata. Regards,Gary.

Thanks Gary. The car is just sitting right now bc I have expired tabs and my mechanic buddy has been out of town, so we haven't really done much besides changing the sensor... I'm just hoping it has nothing to do with the timing belt because that gets expensive. Thanks for the info.

Hey Gary, could the cam be off by a tooth? Like I said, we changed the CMP but the CEL remains. There's also misfires during idle in cylinders 1, 2 & 3, and as you probably already know, are all associated with that camshaft. Also, could a faulty connection from the CMP cause all there cylinders to misfire? I'm stumped...
Thanks, Again!
