Hi guys,

2001 audi a4 1.8t is running 017356 I belive . It reads long term fuel trim running too lean(bank1). any ideas on what the cause of this could be, I was thinking a bad maf?

First check for vacuum leaks, the L and Y shaped formed hose.

 

possibly a bad 02 sensor.

Hi guys,

I did have a few cracked hoses so I replaced them and then cleared the CEL. A few days later the light reappeared so Icleaned the MAF and all was good untill a few days later so I finally broke down and droped it off at Audi. They pulled the same code and told me the MAF needs to be replaced . My question now is can I run the car for a few more weeks with a bad MAF or is this really harmful?

You can run the car with a bad maf for a few weeks. It'll just run with a significant loss of power and acceleration. when you cleaned the maf, did your car run a lot faster? when I cleaned mine, my car hauled *** afterward. if it is indeed a bad maf, when you replace it your car will run fast as hell compared to what its running right now.

yeah when I cleared the code the car is like 3 times faster untill the light came back on , When you cleaned your maf did you clean the connections as well? . When I did mine I just sprayed the wire about 7 times and let it sit for an hour or two, maybe i did it wrong> what do you think
