First Time Poster...any help much appreciated.

I own a 97 A3 1.6. Was having some hard starting issues with it so brought it into Audi. They ran diagnostics and it passed all. They found that there was a cracked breather pipe and 'suggested' this may be the cause.

I have yet to get it fixed but since then I have found that the car tends to lag on acceleration...(like a dirty carborator, only they don't have carborators right?). It sometimes cuts out when in low gears (stalls) and has erratic idling issues. It still has starting issues.

Could all this be down to Breather pipe?

yes it probably is down to the split pipe
