Default MAF on it's way out or in need of a clean?

Hi guys,

A month and a half ago my check engine light came on and after having it checked out at a local audi stealership the let me know the code they pulled was maf related and it needed to be replaced. After I had the car checked out the check engine light was reset and never came back on untill now , a local independant mech said I should just clean it as the audis sometimes have build up on the maf wire and all will be fine. I know at start up my car idles at about 1.5-2 g for 10 seconds before settling bac in at just under one would this also be related to the maf?..................what would you guys suggest?

Thanks, JC

Unplugg the MAf & see how the car feels. Yes, clean it, get some "intake" cleaner & spray the crap out of the sensor (remove MAF from car).
