Help needed on first generation audi injection system.
was cheeking the car it was sounding like it had air leak(not idleing right) so i had a look and found that one vacum pipe was blocked with a screw and there was a nipple for the vacum not connected to a pipe, could this be the reason that it fail emission has the previous owner bypassed some emissions system, i thought once i plugged the house back in that it be fine but when doing that the engine cut out, i have a picture, the pipe is sucking and not blowing, if i put my finger on the end the revs go up slightly but back down and settle again and when i take my finger off it does the same. anyone got any know how on the injection system. could it be the person bypassed it cos the sensor aint working, it seams like its a push and blow valve.

The injection system is CIS, type K-Jetronic.
I have 4kq with 2,2 engine, but have hard times to recognize what you are referencing on your car.
(For 21+ years there were no engine issues on my beast)
I'd suggest you get a Bentley (should not relay 100% on the info there, use discretion) or any other reference book from your library.

right just was messing with it just there. something lik a ega valve it probably has one, but cheeked if it works so put 12 vaults on to it, its opening and closing fine, thought if i turn up the idle speed it wont cut out when plugging it back in, so did that and then it started and ahh it was sounding like the idle control valve was not working, engine revs where up and down so this leads me to think who ever had the car before realized that the idle control valve was fecked so they just buy passed it, when reconnecting the vacum pipe to the (egr) valve it pulls more air from the filter when revving, so with it un plugged it was not getting enough air hense it would not burn fuel properly. does this sound right. oh ye the unit in the picture plugs into the side of the filter box and the other side plugs underneath other side of the air hose just before it connect to throttle body.[/align]
