Hello , i have a 1998 audi a6 1.9tdi with manual tranmission. , i am a mature owner and car has no after market modifications . it was running fine ,. but yesterday i was at traffic lights waiting for a green light . when it did go green the car stalled thought nothing of it so restarted it . it started but would not rev apart from hold revs at a little over 1000rpm also the glow plug light is flashing on the dash . but no other warning lights are on .

so i have not control over engine speed at all . ?

engine temperature is normal and never strayed above halfway.

oil temperature at normal to.

she is not misfiring . and no smoke either

note my lcd display on dash is not functioning so i cant see whether its saying it in limp home mode but it feels like it apart from me not being able to rev the car .

there is no knocking from engine or strange sounds, ticking over nicely but for the exception that its holding revs at 1000-1300rpm .

this is the first time its happened . not one issue before this .
